Our Nursery occupies a large spacious hall with connecting rooms. It is a warm and inviting place,
specifically designed for your child's Comfort, Security and Enjoyment.
We combine Montessori and Forest School Education with the national curriculum for the
Early Years Foundation Stage. We endeavour to stimulate your child's enthusiasm through a
practical and continuous use of Montessori Materials from ages 3 months
to 6 years.
Your child will be offered a wide variety of Montessori Materials specifically
designed to help them learn and develop through using all their senses.
We offer our children a wide range of activities that focus on Practical skills,
Co-ordination, Sensorial, Mathematics, Geography, Language,
Science, History, Music, Culture, Dance & Drama, Arts and Crafts, Cooking.
At Smiths Children Montessori we provide an environment that places a strong
importance on your child's development, Emotionally, Physically and
Intellectually. Children can help themselves to healthy snacks and drinks
throughout the day. They learn to serve themselves and their friends and share
with each other. They learn to lay the table before meals and clear up
afterwards, washing their hands before and after each meal.
Outdoor Pursuits include keeping a vegetable garden, nature walks, forest
school activities, trips and outings. We also have use of a large garden, complete with hard area's, grass, soft play which is securely enclosed. We regularly visit local parks which are a short walk from our setting.
Our Learning approach appreciates fully the guidance for the Early Years
Foundation Stage as defined by The Department for Children, Families and
Schools.
