Smiths Children Montessori City Centre Nursery is located at St. Luke's Church central Cambridge, just off Victoria road and occupies a spacious first floor hall. The setting is warm with plenty of natural light which passes through its beautiful Victorian windows. Our prepared Montessori environment boasts all new furnishings throughout with a large selection of learning materials and activities for all age groups. Our specialist baby room provides places for 6 babies in total from 3 months. Our toddler room is located directly opposite and provides places for 19 toddlers. Our pre-school provides places for 21 children.

Smiths Children Montessori is the first Montessori Nursery in Cambridge, opened on the 3rd January 2012. The nursery is lead by Leslie Milmine (Manager / Montessori Directress).

Lesley graduated with distinction in her Diploma in Montessori Education in 1992 and worked in several Montessori nurseries in Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Dorset.  In 2004 Lesley was voted Montessorian of the Year by Early Years Educator magazine, an award which led to her being invited to start up Region 7 of the Montessori Schools Association in the west country when she moved to Dorset in 2005.  During this time Lesley visited many Montessori schools in her region, gaining valuable insights into what constitutes high quality early years practice.  In 2010 Lesley spent six months working in an advisory capacity in Doha, Qatar, before settling back in East Anglia – her favourite part of the country.  Lesley was awarded a foundation degree in early years in 2011 and continues her studies for BA in Early Years during 2012.  Lesley says ‘I am thrilled to be involved with such an exciting new development for Montessori  in the heart of this lovely city’.
